This is the biggest event I organised so far. A colourful Jurong Birdpark bus was chartered to bring us to Armour Paintball at Skudai, Johor. Ken helped me gather the people at Outram (1st pick up point), while I managed the ones at JE. The turn up was much better than expected. A total of 42 warriors turned up. =)
We headed to a shopping mall in JB for our lunch and some shopping before we went to Armour Paintball. A warrior must have a full tummy before a battle.
All of us changed to our army uniforms and were taught to use the guns. We had a total of 6 teams of 6-7 men and women. We had a round robin in the 1st round, where each team get to play against every team. The 1st round was vigorous, when we learnt to move in the jungle terrain to reach the flag and shoot our opponents with our guns. Teams would have to put on their masks, body armours and guns after each game. We were exhausted after the 1st round.
2nd round was left with 4 teams. My team (4th pic from bottom) fortunately made it to this round. Again, it was a tough match. We fought hard but lost. The remaining 2 teams which fought at the third and final round were good. The champions were the 'commandos' (third pic from the bottom). They played like professionals, maybe there are in the same army unit. They gave commands, leapard crawled and did fire movements to get to the flags. The 1st runner-up were mainly friends from my secondary school (4th pic from the top).
After the tough battles, we washed up a little and went to a nice hawker in JB for dinner. Food was simply amazingly delicious. We ordered almost all the local delicacies. We headed back to Singapore after that, exhausted but satisfied.

Rimba @ Pulau Sibu - 21 & 22 Feburary 2009
This trip to Rimba Resort on Pulau Sibu was organised by HuiXian for the JJC Volleyball group. Thanks HuiXian! Though it was only a 2 days 1 night trip, we really enjoyed our stay on the beautiful Island.
Rimba sent a mini-bus to pick us up at Newton. From there, it took us about 4 hours to reach Pulau Sibu which included a 20 minutes speed boat ride. The boat was fast and bumpy, we were drenched by the time we reach the island, but it was an experience not to be missed.
We were greeted at the shore by the friendly staff of Rimba who showed us our huts. After dumping our bags, we immediately headed for the beach. It was low tide and we could walk out to see the sea shore filled with corels and jellyfishes which were washed in by the waves.
Our lunch was simply delicious, plus the scenic view from our table by the sea, it was Perfect! All the meals were enjoyable, including our dinner with the lit candle lamps.
We went to the jungle trail behind our huts and walked to the other end of the island where we saw the other resorts and beaches. We walked around the coast before returning to our resort for snokeling. Just by walking out to the sea, we saw colourful corals and fishes such as clown fishes and blue tangs. You can actually reach out to touch them, if they don't swim away. We miraculously managed to guide a school of baby fishes close to shore. We guided them back out after a while. =) That night we lazed outside our huts and watched the sky full of stars.
The next day, we had our breakfast and lazed by the beach, while some went to snokel further into towards the sea where they had amazing view of the more corals and fishes. We lunch the island by early afternoon and had our dinner at JB.
I would recommend going to Pulau Sibu, if you like to relax and enjoy the scenic view. =)

KTV @ Top One - 1 Feburary 2009
This is my 2nd or 3rd time I went to a KTV lounge. I don't listen to English or Chinese songs, except when my brother blasted them in the room during our younger days or when he played the songs when we went to NTU together. Not to forget, my lousy chinese. =p
This KTV session was fun as we had many people attending and we had 3 rooms @ Bugis Top One! And, of course, there were many superb singers like KiaKhian and ShuYin. The others were also very good!
We ended the day with refreshing deserts at a store opposite Bugis Junction.

This birthday party is to celebrate Brian, YewKuan, WeiMin and LiYong's birthday.
We started the morning with tennis and basketball at ShuYin's condo and we moved indoor to use the function room decorated by colorfully by the gang. We set up the KTV and had fun singing even though we had only retro songs. We played games such as musical chair, Pinata, Twister etc. We had Shushi, sandwiches and snacks contributed by some of the ladies.
We ended the day with the birthday cake and bursting all the balloons. =)

Family Malaysia Trip - 7 to 10 January 2009
It had been several years since my family when together to visit my relatives in Malaysia. This time, we had 3 new additions to our family, my dasao and my 2 nieces, Janelle and Janine. This was also their 1st visit back to Singapore after migrating to Australia.
We drove to KL to Uncle Peng Ju and my aunt's place. We usually came up once a year and stayed at the house when I was younger. Miss those days. After settling down, that we went to visit Nelson and Roslyn's place and, of course, their kids. Their house was 15-20 mins drive away. The next stop was Julian and Julie's place, about half hour ride, where we met Julie and baby Julia. Both houses were spacious and nice, not to add, new. We had dinner with Julie and Julia that night.
The following day, we went to Genting Highlands where my sister and I joined my dage, dasao and my nieces to the indoor theme park, while the rest of the family went to the casino. It was enjoyable to see the girls smile as their took the rides and played the games. My sister and I even went on rides ourselves on the 'scariest' roller coaster ride for kids. Ha. We left Genting in the late afternoon and had dinner with Nelson's family. We had all-you-can-eat satays, until you were sick of them. Janelle was continuously entertained by the boys throughout dinner.
On the third day, we went to the gigantic shopping mall at the twin towers. We sat and shopped, and spending our time on the 2 girls. Both Julian and Nelson's families joined us for dinner.
The last day, we headed to Joseph and Julie's place in Johor after lunch. Another new and beautiful house. We were greeted by Joseph, Julie and the 3 boys. The girls really enjoyed playing with all the toys and the boys. I enjoyed myself too! We had dinner nearby and mango at Joseph's place before heading back to Singapore.
Hopefully our family can travel once again up to Malaysia when my brother's family returns for a visit! =)

There were alcohal, ice kachang, cakes, Wii, Majong, card games etc. The 4 of them managed to get a vacant HDB unit and decorated it with balloons, banners etc. Cool right =) Best part is the colorful invitation card they sent to all. The card is so special, everyone is different and specially for the receipant.
Everyone were supposed to dress up else they would be forced to dress up like Tarzan =) Well, the party was a success and thanks for organising guys!
